The Australians in Prudhoe - Bridget and Daniel, in love and married!

This was the smallest wedding I have photographed but this made the day very intimate and everyone was so friendly! Of course the couple looked so in love and the rain stayed away (although a bit of sun would have reminded them of home but it wasn't to be). Once again the bridesmaid wore a bright dress which shows up lovely in photos - brides to be take note! After a history lesson from the priest about how the church' moved' we took the couple to Prudhoe Castle and managed to get some great shots before being chased away be the staff who wanted £100 to shoot here! Grrrrrr. So then it was off the reception venue, Wylam Manor to finish up with some more formals.

Nina and Stephen at Longhirst Hall

I've never shot a wedding at Longhirst Hall and was really looking forward to it and the weather behaved itself allowing us to take the group photos outside. Longhirst Hall is a lovely place to get married but the hall where you get married is a nightmare to photograph in for a 'trainee' like me!! It's romantic and atmospheric but very dark. This was an interesting wedding shoot because I was up on the gallery shooting down and that's how I got the shot of Stephen slipping on the wedding ring. Also the gorgeous Lily was sitting on the gallery entranced by the proceedings clutching her confetti. I like to think she was dreaming of being a bride one day.....

I thought the Bridesmaid's dresses were stunning and I loved the colour. Maybe my favourite colour this year?

What no Edinburgh Zoo? No! Adrian and Stephanie's Wedding!

On Sunday the family had planned a trip to Edinburgh Zoo but alas it was not to be....bad weather won the day and we decided not to go. However moments later Mandy called and asked if I would help her photograph Adrian and Stephanie's wedding at the stunning Linden Hall in Longhorsley. We were worried about getting there after all the flooding in the Morpeth area but were determined not to let the happy couple down. However the roads were clear and everything went well - just a bit of rain. Stephanie and Adrian are a couple so in love and had the most amazingly friendly families who really went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Adrian's 15 year old son Ryan took the part of best man and made a very confident and amusing speech and his youngest son Owen had cool Doctor Who cufflinks. Oh and I almost forgot to tell you about the favours......yummy scrummy Bride and Groom gingerbreadmen made and iced by Adrian and Stephanie themselves!
