Lorna and Rab....a wedding at Dissington Hall

A little over a week ago, Lorna and Rab tied the knot at Dissington Hall. The reasons for chosing this venue are pretty obvious. You get the whole place to yourself and it's a gorgeous place inside and out! When the weather doesn't play ball it's reassuring to know that you have great opportunities inside and out so Lorna and Rab knew they could relax and take whatever the British weather decided to throw at them.

The day started with Rab and his 'boys'. His brother, Lee, stood as Best Man and made an awesome speech which had people laughing and crying. They are obviously close and shared lots of laughs growing up. My favourite was about Rab giving a girl a life home after a date...on his BMX...classy!

The weather wasn't too good so we made full use of Dissington's newly decorated Newton Suite which was perfect for the group shots....we then braved the weather to get some lovely Bride and Groom portraits outside.

Funky Portraits.....with my own daughter!

Newcastle is a fantastic city as everyone who lives here knows! We have a great contrast between old and new and some amazing spots for some funky portraits making it a photographers dream. All these photos were taken at locations only minutes from each other which is great when you are wearing heels like Christy's!

My daughter turned 18 last month and she reminded me that I'd photographed everyone and their hamster....except her! So I was keen to redress the balance and we dragged her boyfriend, Tony, along too for good measure.

Tom, Dan and Amy on the beach

Alison Kelly is a very talented Cup Caker maker and owner of Cake Cake Cakes. She makes the most prettiest and delicious cupcakes for weddings and all other events. I have (on more than one occasion) sampled these delights and can definately say they are scrummy.

Alison also has three of the most polite and well behaved children I've met in a while (although she might tell you different!) and it was an absolute pleasure to spend an hour with them last weekend on the beach. Alison wanted a canvas of the three kids for her living room wall and I am sure it's going to look fab.

Tom was telling me that they are all going to Florida on holiday in the summer and it's the first time they've been abroad as a family and they are all really excited!

Hey Franky!

Franky wants to say hello to the world and show his fans just how super cute he is! I knew this was going to be a great shoot the moment I set eyes on this little man as the unthinkable happened...he smiled at me!

He is only 4 months old and is the first for Vicki and Barry who are just so smitten with him. And so is everyone else! My Mam once again got the knitting needles out and she created an adorable blue and chocolate number with tassles that Franky models in some of the shots below.

Karen McGowran Photography featured on 'Love My Dress'

Love My Dress is a Style Diary delivering content related to weddings, art and fashion, inspiring everyone that stops by. Love My Dress has rapidly become an online resource synonymous with fresh and inspirational content - a place where readers can grab a snippet of escapism on a daily basis, and discover fabulous new finds. The wonderful Style Diary is the brain child of one of my 2008 brides, Annabel. This is what she has to say about her 'baby'....

"Love My Dress takes a step away from the usual ‘wedding blog', by focussing purely on providing inspiration and avoiding offering 'advice'; the content is a hybrid of information spanning weddings, fashion and art, and we only publish content that we feel represents the essence of Love My dress and that truly inspires us too. If it features in this little style diary, then it's something pretty splendid."

So I was over the moon (to say the least) to have Jane and Gareth Trow's wedding featured on Love my Dress.
