Published Photographer.....well almost!!

As a wedding photographer you are concerned with all the details that the bride and groom have lovingly agonised over and strive to capture the feel of the day. I'm always surprised just how many other suppliers come together to ensure the day looks amazing and and goes without a hitch. There are cake makers, florists, jewellers, make up artists, hairdressers, bridalwear and groomswear shops, chair cover suppliers, balloon artists, car and limo companies, videographers, Marquee suppliers, wedding co-ordinators, staff at the venue....and many many more!!

We often get asked for photos of the things they have supplied and sometimes my photos are used on their websites to promote their businesses. So I was over the moon to supply photos from Annabel and Phil's wedding to two amazing suppliers.

Flo and Percy supplied Annabel's amazing vintage hair comb and cuff and their stunning pieces have graced celebrities in Hello! magazine. Click here then on The Shearer Cuff or The Shearer Comb to see my photos from Annabel and Phil's wedding. I drool over the pieces on their website and they are perfect for a vintage inspired wedding.

Also Annabel's florist Hilary Maddren has used many of my photos HERE. I really love photographing wedding flowers - they are always beautiful!

Another happy Boudoir Angel!

My boudoir photoshoots have become very popular and my 'Boudoir Angels' always comment on how relaxed and fun the sessions are. Not to mention the fab value for money!
Cherry is getting married next month and planned giving her Husband to be a sexy present on the night before they get married. However she loved her album so much she gave it to him straight away!! I've had work back that he loved it too which really made my day!
So here are a few images that Cherry chose for her album and a couple of images of the album. If you would like a shoot like this you can have a 2 hour shoot, various changes of outfit and an album with 20 images for a special price of £199.....now that's a bargain!

Lee turns 21....and celebrates with a photoshoot with all his mates

When you are 21 life is great! I can just about remember that far back and I would have loved to have captured that moment in time like Lee chose to. There are faces I remember from back them who were a big part of my life and it would have been really special to look back now and recall all those memories and people who helped to make my early 20s such good fun.

So...12 lads on the Quayside in the glorious sunshine...what more could a girl ask for? These lads have the world at their feet and embrace life and all it brings and know how to party! (and I've seen the Facebook pictures and believe me we are talking PARTY). One of them was on leave from Afghanistan so it was a perfect time to get them all together.

Here are my 3 faves...I couldn't resist a family shot at the end even though Mam and Dad had no idea but it's made for a very relaxed portrait and I know they love it.

Happy Birthday Lee..and keep partying!

Karen and Lee

Last week Karen and Lee tied the knot at The Vermont in Newcastle upon Tyne and I think they made a very good choice for many reasons.....the ceremony room is beautiful and the light is great (always good for photographers!), it's right next door to the Castle and the Castle Keep and you can get onto the roof giving great views of the city and bridges and all this provides some great opportunities for amazing photos that other venues just can't match.

This was an interesting wedding as Karen is from Sydney and Lee is a home grown boy. So we had both sides of the world coming together to celebrate their marriage and it was lovely to meet Karen's Mum and Sister especially - very friendly and welcoming! The day went without any problems (except for the bridal jewellery being left in Swindon and a locksmith having to break into Karen and Lee's house to get it!!) and we hit lucky with the weather too so we got to do the group shots on the steps to the old court building. Check out Karen's boots! Awesome!

The happy couple jetted off to Mauritius on a luxurious honeymoon and I am only a little bit jealous! I and sure you'll join me to wish Karen and Lee many many years of wedded bliss.

Congratulations Fern and Stuart!

My friend Fern got married last week and I was honoured to be her photographer. Stuart and Fern planned a lovely spring wedding and this meant that Fern could have a tulip bouquet - something she has always wanted. They got married at Christ Church in North Shields near to their home and after a quick stop off at the Fish Quay they went to The Caledonian Hotel in Jesmond for a drinks reception and evening party. There is something about wedding without a formal sit down meal that I really like. It definately makes for a very relaxed informal day and I know everyone had a great time. Fern and Stuart jetted off to Spain on honeymoon and I would like to wish them a long and happy marriage.

Don't Trash it....Cherish it!!

Right, so you spend months searching for the right dress.....fall in love with it, spend a small fortune and look forward to wearing it on the most important day of your life. You look amazing and marry the man of your dreams. Then what? The dress gets shoved in a box? Maybe it's still hanging in your wardrobe?
Remember the feeling you got when your wore your dress on your wedding day? Rachael did and wanted to feel that all over again. She loved her dress and it's clear to see why - it's a beautiful creation that made her look like a princess. So we took off to Tynemouth beach early one sunny morning and boy did we Cherish that Dress! Rachael was able to relax knowing we weren't going to ruin the dress but also happy that she didn't have to keep it pristine (like she did on her wedding day) and the change of scenery really made that gown stand out. We had so much fun and Rachael had a ball!

Here are a few shots from that day and if you want to Cherish your Dress after your wedding day and celebrate all it's gorgeousness then drop me an email on karenmcgowranphotography@hotmail.co.uk. You can have a 2 hour shoot with many images on a CD for £150. Or why not push the boat out and get a canvas or photobook too?
